Hello there. 

Photography is an instigator. An activity that  propels us into the world, creating adventures and opportunities, with the intention to inform ourselves for the better. Observing and engaging in the world with its infinite stories and possibilities and sharing those experiences can inspire viewers, fomenting awareness, connection and community.

Photographers that have inspired me are the likes of: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau, Steve McCurry, William Eggleston and Martin Parr.

I was born in London in 1969, but grew up in Glasgow, then studied analogue photography from 1989-1991 doing an HND in Photography & Design at Glasgow College. I lived in Amsterdam in the second half of the 1990s where I worked for the likes of the Thalys magazine. At the beginning of the century I went to live in Catalonia where I’ve lived since. In 2013-2014 I did a postgraduate course in documentary photography at IDEP, Barcelona.

When I'm not teaching, or making photos, I spend time with my daughters, and play the ukelele.

La fotografía es una actividad instigadora. Una actividad que nos impulsa a explorar el mundo, creando aventuras y oportunidades, con la intención de informarnos para mejorar. Observar y conectar con el mundo, con sus infinitas historias y posibilidades, y compartir esas experiencias puede inspirar a los espectadores, fomentando la conciencia, la conexión y la comunidad.

Nací en Londres en 1969, pero crecí en Glasgow. Estudié fotografía analógica entre 1989 y 1991, cursando un HND en Fotografía y Diseño en el Glasgow College. Viví en Ámsterdam en la segunda mitad de los 90, donde trabajé para revistas como Thalys. A principios de siglo me fui a vivir a Cataluña, donde resido desde entonces. Entre 2013 y 2014 realicé un posgrado en fotografía documental en el IDEP de Barcelona.

Cuando no estoy enseñando ni tomando fotos, paso tiempo con mis hijas y toco el ukelele.
